Gina Mancini, Residential New Construction Sales, Enridge
Gina Mancini is an employee of Enbridge Gas for the past 32 years and specializes in Residential New Construction. She is the Past President of the Greater Windsor Essex Home Builders’ Association and is sits on the Board of Directors for both the Windsor Essex and Chatham Kent Home Builders’ Associations. In her free time, she loves to ski, bike, play basketball and formerly played for the University of Windsor Women Lancers while attending university. She is married and has two daughters who are both pursuing a career in engineering.
Evelyn Lundhild, Senior Manager, Program Services, IESO
Evelyn Lundhild is the Senior Manager, Program Services for the IESO. In this role she oversees the program delivery, design and technical support functions for the Energy Efficiency Department. Her team is responsible for province wide delivery of all of the Save on Energy programs in Ontario. Prior to this role she held a number of roles within the IESO related to program design and delivery including the delivery of the Green Ontario Fund residential programs. She has been with the IESO (and former OPA) for ten years. She has an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Waterloo and an MBA from the Schulich School of Business at York University.
Mike Collins-Williams, Director of Policy, OHBA
Mike Collins-Williams is a Registered Professional Planning and is the Director of Policy at the Ontario Home Builder’s Association. Mike works on a wide variety of land development, environmental and urban planning related files at the OHBA and spends most of his days at Queen’s Parks advocating on behalf of the OHBA’s 4,000 member companies and most importantly aspiring new home buyers and renters.
Sonny Pirrotta, National Sales Manager, Heating and Air Conditioning at Panasonic Canada, Panasonic
Sonny Pirrotta is the HVAC National Sales Manager at Panasonic Canada. He has been in the HVAC industry for over 10 Years. His experience working as Contractor, Wholesaler and Manufacturer has allowed him to be a trusted advisor to all levels of the HVAC distribution Channel.
Cindy Kaye, Account Manager, Sales, Laurel Oak
Cindy Kaye has worked in sales and marketing at Laurel Oak Marketing Ltd. since 2013. Cindy works with her clients within the home building industry with the goal of improving their marketing reach to Ontario home builders. Her projects consist of Ontario Home Builder magazine, ohba.ca and Ontario Builder Forum. Before joining Laurel Oak, Cindy worked in marketing and event management at Sun Media for its consumer and trade show division.
Wells Baker, Technical Director, EQ Building Performance
Wells Baker is the Technical Director at EQ Building Performance Inc. where he provides technical support to EQ’s three lines of business, namely, sustainability consulting, energy modelling, and building commissioning. With nearly 20 years of experience in the sustainable building industry, Wells has worked both as a design consultant and as a developer. He is focused on driving the industry towards high performance buildings and has a keen interest in passive design, building resilience, and occupant health and comfort. He believes that incorporating sustainability into buildings and businesses is the best way to create lasting value. Wells helped to establish the Toronto Chapter of the Canada Green Building Council and has served two terms on its board of Directors.
Roya Khaleeli, LEED Green Associate, Manager, Sustainability, Minto
Roya Khaleeli is a Manager within the Product Development & Sustainability team with Minto Communities Canada. She is deeply passionate about finding ways to add value to real estate development through sustainability and sharing lessons learned with the wider industry. With a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering she began her career in the automotive industry and went on to gain a Master’s degree in Sustainability in Sweden. Roya worked as a consultant in London (UK) for over four years providing guidance to architects, developers and local planning authorities on how to integrate better design for the environment and people into their projects. During her 8 years with Minto Communities she has worked on over 30 residential projects across the GTHA, provided input on the evolution of the Toronto Green Standard and ENERGY STAR® for Multi-Family High Rise programs and was recognized as the EnerQuality Leader of the Year 2018. Roya serves on the NRCan ENERGY STAR® for New Homes TAC and CHBA Net Zero Energy Homes Management Committee.
Adrian Wang, Director, Innovation & Sustainability, Tridel
Adrian Wang is the Director of Innovation and Sustainability at Tridel. Having spent over 10 years in the industry both in the construction management world and sustainability, he comes with a pragmatic attitude to the implementation of environmentally sustainable solutions in a traditionally risk averse industry. Adrian has been directly involved in the deployment of community wide district energy systems, smart home development, implementation of IT enabled construction management tools and a Net Zero high rise suite, covering a wide range of construction innovations and sustainability endeavors.
Jennifer Weatherston, Director of Sustainability, Timberworx
With a background in residential construction, Jennifer brings insight into production as well as custom high performance home building. Addressing associated costs & practices into an environment that is highly sensitive towards the budget and schedule; Jennifer understands the trade offs and opportunities with advancing to Net Zero Ready while limiting the impact on the budget, enhancing the buildings up front as well as long term payback.Jennifer has led builder(s) to win awards in the Net Zero/High Performance space on multiple occasions while also being recognized herself as the EnerQuality Leader for the Year 2016. Having built over 20 Net Zero Ready homes, 5 full Net Zero Homes, Jennifer is also an advocate for voluntary movement to Net Zero Ready homes.
Shaun Joffe, Executive Director, Sustainability & Building Sciences, Great Gulf
An executive with more than 15 years of experience in the building industry ranging from Site Management to Global Building Initiatives including the First Certified Active House in the World. Shaun Joffe, Executive Director, Sustainability & Building Sciences, leads a high performing team to implement new building standards for one of North America’s premier real estate organizations, the Great Gulf Group of Companies. He is responsible for creating and constantly improving the Great Gulf sustainability corporate and product development programs. He focused on Economics and Philosophy when studying at the University of Guelph and studied Real Estate and Project Management at the University of Toronto. He is committed to the community and has contributed as a board member to the Jay Care Foundation, The House, CJPAC and served on numerous committees including the Crohn’s and Colitis Society. He currently sits on the OHBA/BILD technical committee with the mandate to review Ontario building codes.
Jacqueline Collier, Sales and Marketing Manager, Tamarack
With almost two decades of experience in the residential construction industry, Jacqueline is Manager of Sales & Marketing with Tamarack Homes in Kingston. She is also host of Global News Kingston’s weekly interior design segment ‘Design Ideas with Jacqui’ and is a contributing writer with local publications. Jacqueline holds positions as Vice President of Kingston Home Builders Association, as well as Chair of the Board for Habitat for Humanity KLR, and Vice Chair of the City of Kingston’s Housing and Homelessness Committee, as well as Vice President of the Board with both the Boys and Girls Club of Kingston and Big Brothers Big Sisters KFLA. Jacqueline was winner of EnerQuality’s Builder Achievement Award (2018) and winner of the ENERGY STAR® Champion Award (2017).
Shadi Aghaei, Vice President, Times Group
Shadi Aghaei is the Vice President of Times Group Corporation, an award-winning land development company in the Greater Toronto Area. She joined Times Group in 2012. From 2000 to 2012, Shadi developed strategies and programs for the federal government in Ottawa. During this time, she gained significant experience in government affairs, managing large projects and organizations, and process reengineering to yield savings and other efficiencies. Prior to leaving government, she was co-director of a $3.5B Public-Private Partnership project, the largest energy services acquisition project in North America.
Tyler Simpson, Technical Manager, Canadian Wood Building Council
Tyler has been involved in the residential and commercial construction industry for eleven years. His educational background includes a diploma in architectural technology from Mohawk College and a degree in civil engineering infrastructure (B.Tech.) from McMaster University. He is currently completing a Masters degree in Building Science from Ryerson University. Tyler represented Owens Corning as the Technical Manager for Ontario for over eight years. During this time he helped guide the design community towards sustainable and durable building enclosures, as well, supported the industry with effective designs of acoustical and fire rated assemblies. Tyler is now a Technical Manager with the Ontario Wood Works Program through the Canadian Wood Council. His efforts are focused around influencing the construction market to increase adoption rates of wood in commercial buildings for mid-rise, tall wood, and mass timber buildings.
Chantal Whitaker, Supervisor, Sustainability, City of Pickering
Chantal is the Supervisor of Sustainability at the City of Pickering. With over 19 years of experience in the sustainability and environmental field, she oversees the development and implementation of the City’s diverse sustainability initiatives, ranging from energy, waste and the natural environment, to community engagement and planning. Much of her work involves collaborating with Council, City departments, regional government, local businesses, community organizations and the development industry to achieve the City’s goals and advance its sustainability commitments. Chantal received her Honours Bachelor in Environmental Science from Trent University and holds a Masters Certificate in Public Sector Management from the University of Ontario Institute of Technology. She is also certified by the Centre for Sustainability & Excellence and Chartered Management Institute as a Sustainability Practitioner. Chantal remains active in a number of professional associations, including the International Association for Public Participation and International Society of Sustainability Professionals.
Tami Kitay, Director of Planning and Building Sciences, City of St. Catharines
Tami Kitay is the Director of Planning and Building Services for the City of St. Catharines in Niagara Region. Her portfolio includes Planning, Heritage, Design, Building Services, By-law Enforcement, and Development Engineering. She holds an Honours Co-op Bachelors Degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Waterloo and a Masters of Public Administration degree from the University of Western Ontario. Tami is a Registered Professional Planner with over 19 years of experience in progressive planning roles at the City of Burlington, City of Barrie, City of Hamilton, the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury, and the former Ontario Municipal Board. Known for bringing urban design and public realm vision to the forefront of her planning work, she promotes a collaborative approach to community development.
Ernie Lee, Technical Manager, Owens Corning
Ernie Lee is the Technical Sales Manager for Ontario and the Atlantic provinces at Owens Corning, he has been in the construction industry in North American markets for over 20 years. At Owens Corning, we aim to educate the design community and builders to build to the code of 2030, R-2000, to be NET ZERO ENERGY READY.
