Climate change action plans and proposed home energy rating disclosure are making both builders and buyers aware of a home’s energy consumption.

The industry is changing, building codes are changing, and construction methods are becoming more focused on GJ and the energy consumption of the home.

It’s time to learn how to deal with this by getting trained as an energy advisor. Energy Advisors are authorized by Natural Resources Canada to conduct EnerGuide home evaluations and provide expert advice in the planning and designing stages of home construction.

This course is designed to prepare energy advisors for the EnerGuide Rating System version 15 Foundation Level and Energy Advisor exams. It is also the first step to becoming an Energy Advisor in the ENERGY STAR® for New Homes and Net Zero programs.

Taught by Andy Oding and Toby Smith of Building Knowledge, the instructors have a combined 35+ years in the building and energy advisor industries

Energy Advisors that have passed these exams can work in the Union Gas and Enbridge home retrofit programs, as well as complete EnerGuide Ratings on new homes.

The workshop will encompass four days, including hands-on training.

Please bring to the course: laptop computer, calculator, notepad/paper, pen and pencils. For onsite: clipboard with notepaper, digital camera, tape measure, flashlight.
