Residential Part 9 Air Barrier / Air Tightness - EnerQuality

Residential Part 9 Air Barrier / Air Tightness

Education Residential Part 9 Air Barrier / Air Tightness

Our first one sold out in advance, so we’re doing it again!

Take an intensive one-day course covering key Residential Part 9 Air Barrier/Air Tightness, and learn what it means for your projects.

High performance air barriers and low infiltration rates are essential for ensuring healthy, comfortable, durable, efficient buildings and enclosure systems. Air tightness testing will become a common required practice for low carbon building codes and volunteer labeling programs (e.g. Net Zero, ENERGY STAR®).

Why is Air Tightness important?

  • Air tight construction leads to greater comfort for your customers.
  • Leaky homes lead to higher heating and cooling costs – proper air barriers lead to increased savings.
  • Ventilation systems only work properly if the building envelope is air tight.
  • Air tightness provides better sound protection for the inhabitants.

What you will leave with:

  • Certificate of completion and hard-hat sticker certifying trained status.
  • Sample Site checklist for Air Barrier completion
  • Sample Air Barrier details-best practice.
