Andy Oding
CEO, President, Building Knowledge Canada
Andrew is a recognized building science trainer with over 30 years of experience across homebuilding, HVAC design, and energy advising. Known for his practical, real-world approach, he helps translate building science into effective in-field application. He works with over 350 homebuilder clients across North America and contributes to the development of the National Building Code of Canada (2020–2025) and associated standards (CSA, CGSB, ASHRAE).
Andrew supports the implementation of leading high-performance building programs, including CHBA Net Zero Ready, ENERGY STAR® for New Homes, LEED for Homes™, and Passive House.
Dan Sandink
Sr Director, Resilience Programs, ICLR
Dan Sandink is Senior Director, Resilience Programs at the Institute for Catastrophic Loss Reduction. Since joining ICLR, Dan has authored or co-authored more than 50 technical reports and articles on topics related to protecting Canadians and their property from the impacts of extreme rainfall/urban flooding, high wind, wildland-urban interface fire, and hail.
Dan’s writing has also focused on public disaster risk perceptions, public adoption of household disaster risk reduction practices, the role of insurance in managing disasters, climate change adaptation and vulnerability assessment, building materials and products designed to mitigate disaster risk at the household level, among many other topics.
