It gives us great pleasure to announce EQ’s 2016 Housing Innovation Forum conference program. It has been truly exciting to plan this year’s Housing Innovation Forum, taking place on February 25th at the Sheraton Parkway Toronto North Hotel & Suites. We’ve collaborated with key green home builders, building scientists, industry consultants, renovators, and agency partners across Canada. The result is an exciting and educational roster of panelists and subjects that will inform and inspire you to adjust to changing business realities, and to create value for your business.
Mr. Peter Gilgan, Founder & CEO of Mattamy Homes, Canada’s largest home builder and a committed ENERGY STAR® for New Homes builder, will kick off an exciting conference program, ending at 4:30pm.The conference will be followed by the EQ Awards Gala, so be sure your ticket covers all day AND evening! If not, purchase your full event ticket here. At last year’s EQ Awards, Mr. Gilgan shared his belief that changes could be made on a much grander scale than any of us thought was possible before. Hear what Mr. Gilgan has in store for us this year.
Responding to calls for renewed emphasis on climate change mitigation, our green home builders are demonstrating leadership and commitment to building more sustainable and energy efficient houses that home buyers can count on and expect. NEXT GEN/NEXT 10 – the conference theme – previews the next generation of Canada’s most popular third party certification programs while looking ahead at innovation in green housing market unfolding over the next decade. 2017 marks a major change in the new Ontario Building Code coinciding with major updates also taking place with the ENERGY STAR® for New Homes, EnerGuide Rating System voluntary building standards. These are systems our country’s highest performance builders use to guide their businesses.
New to the Forum? No worries – This program is for you. We’ve designed it to help home builders future-proof their business while delivering a market advantage. Each session will help you determine the changes you need to meet and exceed code requirements while maintaining an affordable product. Get a better understanding of the implications of introducing smart, energy efficient and renewable technologies and products into your homes. These sessions are also designed to answer questions and mitigate risk while changing the way builders construct their homes.
Finally, get the low-down on the CHBA’s new voluntary certification program for Net Zero. This is the first made in Canada Net Zero green building labelling program, providing both home builders and owners with the peace of mind they need for 3rd party validation. Last year our Forum’s Net Zero session was the highest rated session of the day. Don’t miss this session with the builders who are on the cutting edge and hear their candid and often surprising lessons learned about building to our industry’s current highest standard.
There’s no better opportunity than this event to access Canada’s biggest and most influential builders and industry influencers focused on building the best homes in the province.
